Problem

Picture a graph with twenty dots. Each dot stands for one of Sarah's classmates. A line segment between two dots means those two classmates are friends.

Sarah is making her birthday party guest list. She is inviting two kinds of people:

  • All of her own friends.
  • Anyone who is a friend of at least one of Sarah's friends.

Anyone else does not get invited.

How many of the twenty classmates will not be invited?
