Problem

"Four consecutive odd integers" means four odd numbers in a row, like 1,3,5,71, 3, 5, 7 or 11,13,15,1711, 13, 15, 17. Add up all four of them, and you get one number.

Different starting points give different sums. So some whole numbers can be written as the sum of four consecutive odd integers, and some cannot.

Which of the numbers below CANNOT be written as the sum of four consecutive odd integers?

Pick an answer.

(A)

(B)
